Academic Support for All Children

What is Fearless Learning?

Fearless Learning is a private tutoring company run by an experienced special education teacher.  We offer a wide range of services to help children achieve academic success and grow their executive functioning skills.  All lessons are individualized, using a variety of instructional techniques based on each student's strengths and needs.  Fearless Learning prioritizes forming strong and trusting relationships with all children to erase their fears and help them learn.  Tutoring sessions are held in person at our office in Northfield, IL.  Upon request, sessions are available on Zoom.

Meet Rebecca Schur!

Rebecca Schur is the founder and president of Fearless Learning.  She is a licensed K-12 special education teacher and taught for more than seven years in the public school system, including the past five years at Sunset Ridge School in Northfield, Illinois.  Rebecca has a master’s degree in special education from Vanderbilt University and went to Carleton College for her bachelor’s degree. While the majority of her teaching career was in a middle school, she has taught in elementary and high school settings as well.  In addition to working with children with a wide range of disabilities, she has co-taught general education math classes and has supported all students in math, science, language arts, and social studies classes.

Rebecca decided to leave the classroom in order to dedicate her efforts exclusively towards helping children learn.  She wants to use all of her time and energy to focus on teaching kids the skills they need to feel successful.  Rebecca loves getting to know children, building rapport and trust with them, and then using that relationship to figure out how each child learns best.  Rebecca's students say that she is enthusiastic and makes learning fun!
